nikutai ha gachi volume 2

I didn't know but Nikutai Ha Gachi (肉体派ガチ), the brand-new version of our good old mens love anthology Nikutai Ha (肉体派), has its own section in in Aqua Comics' website. I saw there that Nikutai Ha's first volume was released in 2005. Two thousand five. Considering I was already a seasoned veteran from the Kinniku Otoko days back when Nikutai Ha launched, that sure makes me feel old.

In any case, Nikutai Ha Gachi's 2nd volume is out in a couple days (February 23rd), and the cover is drawn by our very own fan favourite, Shoutaroh Kojima!

This issue's theme is 雄尻 ("oshiri"), or, from what I could understand, "male asses". I can't say I don't appreciate their choice.

my favourite south park episode

South Park has been one of my favourite shows since I was like, 13. That's well over a decade. A while back I found out the official site had full episodes available and I've been watching it every now and then.

Recently I watched You're Getting Old, the latest season's mid-season finale. It's one of those unconventional episodes that don't follow the typical pattern of the TV shows they are from, and it's extremely difficult to watch if you're a fan. Stan celebrates his 10th birthday and becomes unable to have fun with anything. Everything to him looks and sounds like crap - it's greatly exaggerated, but so many things do seem to become less fun as you grow old. Because he can't have fun with anything, his friends don't want to hang out with him anymore. His family also starts to fall apart and basically his life takes a turn to the worst.

It really had an impact on me. I can only imagine how tough it must have been to the fans when the mid-season ended like that, it pretty much looked like the show was done for! Thankfully I watched it a few months after its original airing and therefore I knew the series didn't end (the solution Stan found to bring his life back to normal in the following episode was becoming an alcoholic). That episode has become one of my favourite in a TV show. I've been listening to the closing song, Fleetwood Mac's Landslide, almost every day since I watched that episode. It's such a beautiful song. Growing old is just so difficult.

the guilt in liking tim tebow

Today, everyone is writing about Tim Tebow being gay for some reason. It compelled me to write a bit to get stuff out of my chest. I'm a Bronco fan, because of Tebow, and that makes me a horrible person. I realise that, but I can't help it, and I'm a bit lost at what to do.

I started caring about American Football several years ago, because of Eyeshield 21, but I never cared specifically about the NFL much. My only exposure to it came from checking sexy players in a now-defunct Yahoo e-mail group in which I met this ridiculously hot quarterback named Tim Tebow. He was still in college then, and I didn't know much about him other than that he was tall and handsome and muscular and smoking hot.

Last August, the boyfriend and I went to New York to celebrate our 6th anniversary. For some unknown reason, I had my mind set that I needed a Tim Tebow jersey. I have no idea why I became fixated on that idea since Tebow was merely one among several hot guys in football, but I simply needed that goddamn jersey. Not wanted – I NEEDED it. After a quick search, I found out he now played for the Denver Broncos. I came to know of the Broncos a long ago from South Park, and finding out Tebow was a Bronco made it an easy choice to support them. Plus, the Broncos jersey is simply gorgeous.

Getting the jersey was a challenge in itself. New York City stores didn't carry Denver apparel, so I had to buy it online. The thing is: the official NFL store wouldn't accept my Brazilian credit card. Eventually, I did find FootballFanatics, an online store that shipped to Brazil, meaning they accepted my Brazilian American Express card (that was accepted in every single brick-and-mortar store in NYC... go figure), and I bought it. I wasn't sure regular free shipping would arrive in time, so I even spent an extra 20 bucks for overnight shipping. $100 for a shirt –pretty expensive, but worth it.

That was August. We arrived in São Paulo in early September – the week the NFL season would start. I already knew football rules (at least most of them), but I had very little NFL baggage. I knew only a handful of the teams, basically no players, and I didn't know exactly how the League worked. Since I was on vacation from work, I decided I would learn it all before the first kickoff. And I did – I spend days researching everything and ended up with a pretty decent notion of everything NFL. Including that Tebow wasn't a starter, but merely a back-up that probably wouldn't get a chance to play any time soon. And that nobody really liked how he played – he was a joke. Considering I knew Tebow from college, where he was outstanding, the idea he was actually a bad player took a while to settle in my mind.

To make a very long story short, Tebow became a starter, upset several preconceived notions in the NFL, and my Broncos, which, at first, I adopted mostly because of Tebow, but had grown on me to the point I consider myself a full-fledged Bronco fan, Tebow or no Tebow, are two games away from the Super Bowl. What a road that was – one I don’t regret taking part in. And now, here we are, January 2012. Tebow is now basically everywhere you look, including gay websites… which makes my guilt less and less bearable.

The huge problem is Tim Tebow's religion. He's a hardcore Christian who supports horrible pro-"family" groups. While he has never stated specific hatred or dislike towards gays, homophobia and bigotry are basically implicit in everything he believes – heck, on everything he IS, because he IS his faith. I even read gay people calling gay Tebow fans "chickens who support the Colonel" – that made me feel awful, because I do support him as much as any Bronco fan.

Some gay people I met who supported Tebow say the fact he never stated he is homophobic allows us to give him the benefit of doubt. That's an argument I used before to calm my conscience, but I feel it's unadulterated hypocrisy. He's from a family of preachers and he behaves like some sort of incarnation of pure heedless faith. I honestly cannot see how he could be anything other than disapproving of homosexuality. Thinking otherwise feels to me way too much like lying to myself. I'm not sure I can use that argument, especially after Denver refused to take part in the It Gets Better project. "Benefit of doubt" becomes even harder after that attitude. I mean, I can see why the Denver Broncos wouldn’t do it, it’s a football organization – unfortunately, there’s a lot of internalized homophobia in football and things could, and would, get blown out of proportions. But individual players shouldn’t have excuses, especially Tim, who prides himself in being such a selfless, charitable person.

But, as I said, I am a Bronco fan now. I've followed the team through everything we've been through, and as several analysts have pointed out, this Broncos season has been one of the most remarkable in many, many years. They've grown on me, and football has become something I really enjoy. Tebow too has grown on me, not only as a hot guy, but as my quarterback and someone I wish only the best. And there lies my dilemma: I'm supporting someone who probably hates me and is opposed to everything I defend.

I'm not sure what to do. For the most part, I've ignored Tebow's religiousness or my homosexuality by keeping separate "brain switches" ("sports fan" and "gay") that I flip depending on the occasion. When I'm being a sport fan, my homosexuality is irrelevant, and when I'm reading gay stuff, what are sports again?. But that artificial separation of my own character is rapidly faltering now that every single person in the internet talks about Tebow, even gay people. It's like I'm being outed as a "traitor to our cause" (not literally, but metaphorically, in my guilty conscience) for supporting someone like Tebow. And it gets to me, because I don't want to support a bigot – it's contradictory to everything I believe in. The thing is, that bigot isn't a walking stereotype like Rick Santorum (or his Brazilian equivalent, Jair Bolsonaro) - he's gorgeous, he's silent about the issue and he's my team's quarterback. But does that mean just because of that he should be given a free pass? Wouldn’t that be basically supporting intolerance, crumbling my coherence and making my arguments towards equality all but meaningless?

I sincerely cannot answer those questions. It’s hard to be a gay Bronco fan.

dota 2 and dominion

Dota 2 is amazing.
And League of Legends Dominion appears to be right across the corner too!

It's a good time to be a MOBA player.
Capitalism and competition FTW.

aria di mezzo carattere

While skimming through random articles on Final Fantasy Wikia, I came across the entry for Aria di Mezzo Carattere and I was reminded of which I consider the best scene in a videogame, Final Fantasy VI's opera. Looking back, I'm impressed how such a simple scene can be so powerful. I would say that, even if it isn't the premiere cinematic/dramatic videogame scene, it's the greatest testament to the power of script in videogames.

In a nutshell, your party needs to cross the ocean in order to get to raid the Empire's capital city. It happens that the free-spirited rogue gambler who owns the world's only airship is an opera fanatic who has disclosed his intention of kidnapping and marrying the opera's main singer. Therefore, your party devise a plan of having the battle-hardened, former Empire general - who happens to look uncannily like the opera's main singer - take her place in the next performance, be kidnapped and convince the gambler to take your group across the ocean.

That's the unconventional background to the greatest scene in videogame history, the Aria di Mezzo Carattere. Mechanically, there's no challenge whatsoever: you play as Celes, the general, and just have to choose the right line three times among two available (which are conveniently presented to you right before you start the scene). Looking today, the mechanical constraints might even make it seem dated to some - to me, it makes it all the more charming. The song is intensely evocative and emotional, perfectly setting the appropriate mood. Without a doubt, it is one of my favourite pieces of videogame music, up there with masterpieces such as To Far Away Times from Chrono Trigger and Angel's Fear from Secret of Mana. I have a hard time listening to either of these without tearing up.

The opera's originality, lyricism, feeling and perfect composition are, in my opinion, still unparalleled to this day. That's why it's my favourite videogame scene.

fairy tail

I started reading Fairy Tail when it was released locally, around 7 months ago. It had been at least five years since I last bought manga from the newsstands. When I saw Fairy Tail was going to be released, it felt appropriate to rekindle that long forgotten habit. The first manga I read was Groove Adventure Rave, from Fairy Tail's own Hiro Mishima, about 10 years ago. I used to download it from a scanlation group called MangaHelpers back then. In that site few months later I found One Piece, which ended up becoming my quintessential manga series.

Fairy Tail reads just like One Piece-lite. It's entertaining in a generic shounen sort of way. It doesn't engage you completely the way Jump series do (such as the aforementioned One Piece, Eyeshield 21 or even Hikaru no Go), but I admit I was looking forward to next month's release after finishing each volume. I admire its concise fight scenes, most conflicts so far (just finished vol.7) haven't stretched further than I felt it was necessary, but at the same time it lacks brilliance. Something the series I can't help but compare Fairy Tail to (One Piece) has in spades.

I'd say it's a great introductory shounen manga. I'm not sure if I would recommend One Piece to a newcomer, since it sets an awfully high standard for a shounen manga, and it might lean a tad too heavily on the emotional side - far more than most shounen manga, and that might be deceiving to a newbie. Fairy Tail is more direct to the point. It's an adventure shounen manga that's filled with...well, actual adventures, instead of emotionally-draining, heartwarming (or at times heart-wrenching) moments of heavenly inspiration. It doesn't feel like a masterpiece, but it's been a pleasant read so far. And, to be honest, One Piece only evolved into a true manga masterpiece with the Usopp-Sanji-Nami backstories in the Capt. Kuro, Krieg and Arlong sagas, respectively. I'd love to be surprised by Fairy Tail.

My biggest complaint is the rampant abuse of female fanservice. Young girls with impossibly thin waists and watermelon breasts get old after a while. Particularly when there's no serviceable muscular manly men in sight, I'd say only Elfman and Laxus scratched that itch. Gray would have, if only he was older, or larger, or both (I sure appreciate his stripping antics).

doujin game by kojiman

Gay manga artist and personal god Shoutaroh Kojima said on Twitter he's thinking of making a doujin game.
Kojiman, one of my favourite things in the world, possibly making a game, ANOTHER of my favourite things in the world. Time to explode in joy already?

This post is now diamonds.

(he still doesn't know how to make a game, so it isn't properly an announcement, more of a request for suggestions on how to do it... still, diamonds!)

how to buy at surpara

Surfers Paradise is a website that sells digital doujinshi, much like Digiket. Its catalog seems to be a bit less diverse than Digiket, but Shoutaroh Kojima fans will rejoice - it carries the exact same Kojiman doujin as Digiket! In fact, he just released a new book, called Nicchi Bocchi Station 2 - it's an apparent sequel to his Bakuman. book called Nicchi Bocchi Station from April 2010, but instead of featuring the chubby Miura, this new release's hunk of choice is our beloved 16-year old muscle monster slash football player, Rikiya Gaou from Eyeshield 21.

The best part about SurPara is that, unlike Digiket, it accepts credit cards! No need to buy WebMoney to make purchases at SurPara: all it requires is a credit card and an email address. You don't even need to register (Digiket does if you want to use WebMoney, check my guide here). The whole ordering process takes all of five simple steps that I'll show in pretty self-explanatory screenshots.

1st step: click the red button to add the doujinshi you want to the cart. Doing this will take you to the next screen:

2nd step: click the button to proceed to checkout. Pretty straightforward right?

3rd step: check the box next to the red text. Fill the forms with your email address (my hotmail.com account worked just fine). Choose "Credit Card" as your payment mode, then click the button proceed.

4th step: make sure all the information is correct, then click the button to proceed.

Final step: fill the form with your credit card information. Cardholder name, credit card number and expiration date. Then click the button.

After this, check your email inbox. You should have received an email with the download link. Just follow it, download your quality porn and fap to your heart's content! Buying at SurPara is super easy, and cheaper than Digiket too since you're paying n yen instead of having to buy a 1000-yen WebMoney card for 1200 yen.

hunks work shop fan translation

A few people in the Bara Board are attempting to translate Hunks Work Shop. HWS is a generation-defining game and I doubt anyone with even the slightest interest in gay manga hasn't heard of it. I'm attached to it for several reasons. Masanori was my first exposure to "bara", before I knew it even existed, and for that he will always have a special place in my heart, together with Takeshi Matsu for being the first gay manga I bought, and obviously Shoutaroh Kojima for being my personal god and influencing my nerdlife so damn much. Back in the day, when we "bara" fans learned he was working on a gay eroge, everyone went completely insane. Our expectations were extremely high, and they were fully met with the game's release - I wasn't disappointed in any way, it is THAT good.

Niikura, in particular, is my everyone's waifu. Not only is he one of the hottest manga ever drawn, his backstory (cop turned yakuza godfather's bitch) is so awesome it deserves a full-blown manga. Heh, even Masanori seems to like him better than the rest. Occasionaly he would tease us with images from Niikura's past. This one is my favourite:

I wish them luck and success in their endeavour. Hunks Work Shop is amazing in every sense - I might be repeating myself, but I'm absolutely not exaggerating. People who haven't had the chance to play it due to the language barrier need to be able to do so, and I sincerely hope this translation will make it more accessible to people. Masanori is a genius and deserves recognition.

Funny that someone in the thread said HWS was the first thing he fapped to. It made me feel so old! I can't remember exactly the first thing I masturbated to, it was either to a Boris Vallejo barbarian or a perfume ad with shirtless sailors. I think I was 13 at the time. When I learned of "bara" I was 17 and already an accomplished fapper. It's amusing to think that young gay nerds these days start masturbating to gay manga. And they have so much of that just a few clicks away. I envy them a bit. :)

videogame heterocentrism and gay romance

In Dragon Age 2, there are four characters in your party that can be romanced by your main character, Hawke: Fenris, the typical angsty male elf; Merril, the cutesy, slightly childlike female elf; Anders, the smart, suave human male; and Isabella, the skanky oversexed human female. Hawke can be either male or female, and your choice of gender, made at the start of the game, doesn't influence whether or not you are able to romance those four: they are all bisexual by default.

I haven't had the opportunity to go through Dragon Age 2 yet (too busy playing Pokémon Black), but being a staunch defender of a broader portrayal of homosexuality in videogames, I considered this a major selling point of Dragon Age 2. While the game itself has several glaring flaws, giving more choice for non-het romance (the first Dragon Age had only one gay angsty morally-debatable elf) was something I considered extremely positive.

However, a straight male gamer wasn't pleased. He wrote a post in the Bioware official forums saying that the main gamer demographic - that is, the straight male gamer - was neglected in Dragon Age 2. His argument is that straight male gamers compose the great majority of players, adding two gay romance options (or, rather, four - he seems to ignore the lesbian possibilities) instead of increasing the het options contributed to making the game mediocre.

I obviously have a completely different viewpoint from everything he said. In fact, I had quibbles with Bioware when they didn't add the option to having gay romance in Mass Effect 2. Every remotely open-ended game that features romance (something I personally find superfluous, although it's apparently very popular) should have homosexual options. It's not even a matter of being politically correct. Heck, it's frigging REALITY. Homosexuality exists. Not having it makes your game less truthlike. So just add a bunch of believable gays in your games. Simple like that. Avoiding stereotypes is a major plus.

The crowning moment of awesome was the first reply, from David Gaider, an actual Bioware developer and the game's lead writer. His whole post deserves to be read, but this excerpt was my favourite of the lot:

The romances in the game are not for "the straight male gamer". They're for everyone. We have a lot of fans, many of whom are neither straight nor male, and they deserve no less attention. We have good numbers, after all, on the number of people who actually used similar sorts of content in DAO and thus don't need to resort to anecdotal evidence to support our idea that their numbers are not insignificant... and that's ignoring the idea that they don't have just as much right to play the kind of game they wish as anyone else.
(important parts bolded)

Wow. This made me a bit emotional, even. Bioware took a pro-gay stand and stated as clear as daylight that we, gay gamers, deserve games that feature homosexuals as much as straight gamers deserve games with straight people. And the best information of all, gay gamers aren't negligible - we're a significant portion of their base! I get teary-eyed when I think that my favourite form of entertainment might be evolving to a point in which homosexuality is portrayed as a natural fact instead of an awkward comic device or an excuse to sociopathic behaviour.

I wasn't going to buy Dragon Age 2 because it's a badly-made game, rushed for release, padded with paid reviews and therefore wholly undeserving of my money, but after reading what Bioware said, I now feel almost morally compelled to making a purchase.

that manga called one piece

I made an unspoken promise to myself long ago not to read manga or watch anime anymore. It's too addicting and it makes me feel almost physically ill. I remember when I read Eyeshield 21 compulsively, I cried for weeks when Musashi (AKA Takekura Gen/Red’s-number-one-favourite-character-ever-in-any-media-ever-produced-by-man) returned and became a completely different character. I must admit I never really got over that. Also, when I watched Fullmetal Alchemist... Hughes’s death had about the same impact on me. I'm easily moved by stuff and I always fall for the scriptwriter’s traps, as far-fetched as they might be. That’s why manga and anime are hazardous to me.

But for no real reason I felt like reading One Piece again. My past with One Piece dates way back. I started reading it around 2000-2001, over ten years ago, and it's ever since been among my favourite manga (I’d say it’s the runner up, Eyeshield 21 being number one). But One Piece consumes you, it feeds on you. Reading a whole OP saga is comparable to watching your heart being ripped off your chest and sliced into pieces. At least that's what it does to me. Everything about One Piece makes me cry buckets, it doesn’t matter if it’s a sad story or if it's a heartwarming, touching moment. I cry all the same. It’s a horrible combination, because it's exceedingly good and impactful, and I’m way too easily influenced by what I read. Reading One Piece is emotionally draining to an alarming degree.

Anyway, I felt I needed to make up for my lost time. I’m about 4 years late: I stopped right at the end of Water Seven/Ennies Lobby arc, around chapter 430. So I picked it up and, lo and behold, Smoker showed up around the second or third chapter I read. It’s hard to say exactly how much exactly but I was mad about Smoker back when I was a teenager, and he is still and will always be among my top favourite characters (and, gosh, he’s still ridiculously sexy and he's in a gratuitous shirtless scene – fanservice much?). I took it as a sign I shouldn’t drop One Piece again. Odacchi, I'll hate you forever for creating something that just so beyond what a manga is supposed to be.

resolutions

2010 is over, and it was... uneventful. Sort of a "do stuff you should have already done long ago" year, like surgery for making sex a bit less painful, or getting my driver’s license. Highlights of the year were League of Legends, new Kojiman books and the trip to Buenos Aires (Persicco owner, so sexy). I guess I might as well make a short list of resolutions to try to turn 2011 into a more remarkable year, even though I’ll probably forget about them in a few days.

- Get a new job. It's been almost 4 years since I started my current job, heck I was still in college, and I can’t stand it anymore.
- Save more money. My savings are at an all-time low, and since I plan on going to Japan with Shawn in 2012 I need to find a way to save money! Possibly by getting a new job, which ties in with the previous resolution.
- Read more books. All my free time is spent gaming, really. I think I need to read more. One of my goals is getting to the end of The Devil to Pay in the Backlands.
- Start working out. I have no money to afford a gym though, so I have no idea how to make this happen.
- Re-learn Japanese. I stopped well over two years ago and I’ve forgotten almost everything. Japanese is amazing, though, I really wish I had more time to take classes again.

cataclysm

The third expansion pack to World of Warcraft, Cataclysm, was released this Tuesday. I tried not to jump into the bandwagon so soon, having been in WoW-remission since July, but in the end I bought it on release day. I’m Blizzard’s sheep as awful that might be, I can’t do much about it.

For very practical reasons, I decided to level my Dwarf Paladin as my main character this expansion instead of my perennial main, my Human Rogue. The paladin was my first healer, as soon as he reached 80 I respecced from Retribution (my leveling spec) to Holy (my instancing/raiding spec) and never went back to anything non-healy. Now that dual-spec is very cheap (a 99% drop, from 1000g to 10g), I ended up buying it. I’m going Retribution-Holy, Ret for easier questing, Holy for dungeons. My endgame plan is going Holy/Protection for complete utility, but I’m not sure yet. I’m actually enjoying the Ret playstyle, the remake made it rather rogue-ish. I haven’t abandoned my rogue, he is still my favourite character, but hybrids are just so more useful.

For no actual reason I’m questing at Vashj’ir. I had no idea where to start and followed the first quest I got, the one given telepathically by the Draenei, and ended up underwater. It’s RIDICULOUSLY linear but at least the scenery is pleasant I guess. As I get deeper into the zone it gets kinda scary, it gives me the feeling a gigantic abyssal monster will swallow me whole. The rogue will go to Hyjal for sure.

WoW seems to have fully embraced its "easymode pastime" image, because it keeps getting more and more brainless. You now level at an alarming rate and everything became user-friendly to the point of ridicule. Seriously, there was a quest I had to shoot spears at nagas and I didn’t even had to CLICK the nagas, just click the spears in my inventory (or rather, in the quest log conveniently placed below the minimap – I didn’t even have to search my bags for the quest item) and they would automatically hit the nagas that were passing by, who as a matter of fact didn’t aggro either. There was absolutely ZERO danger in doing this quest. After playing some League of Legends I can definitely notice the difference in a skill-based PvP game and WoW’s grindy leveling/instance playstyle. It’s still fun, but I’m not sure for how long.

good news and bad news

One of the few good news this week is that Tactics Ogre claimed the top spot in Japan's best selling games. If it's anywhere nearly as good as the original, I can't think of a more deserving position. It's a masterpiece.

On the other hand, two hate crimes against homosexuals recently happened around here, one of them in my city. As it seems, in Brazil if a gay guy comes on to you, beating him up and defacing him with shards of glass is a perfectly reasonable response. Isn't it lovely to live in a civilized country? I can only imagine how it must be.

By the way, I have not yet written an entry on the doujinshi Kojiman released back in AUGUST. I'm a terrible fanboy, I mean, I'm so late he even had a new release last month so I'm two dounjins behind. Sadly I don't have Photoshop after formatting this PC so it's kinda hard to make some preview pics! Anyway, December is coming closer and with it Winter Comiket and another brand new release to look forward to.

on scruffy models and large asians

- League of Legends is currently consuming all of my free time. It’s too damn addicting! Once you start playing you don’t ever want to stop. Really, queuing for “just one match” is a figment of imagination. I’m still playing mostly the sad mummy Amumu with the Emumu skin (“let’s make some friends!” - awww SO adorable!) and Garen (so incredibly brave and sexy, even though he’s a cheap overpowered bastard).

- I finally rediscovered this t-shirt website called Zazzle (thanks to Lost und Found in translation). I was frantically looking for it because of the hot scruffy long-haired bearded model they have, Darren. I’m posting here in the blog so I don’t ever lose it again. Darren must be my favourite models ever, I wish HE was for sale instead of the shirts he’s wearing. The hair, the beard... he's like a sexy hobo.

- Chilean miners say they didn’t have sex with each other while trapped, but nothing is stopping our dirt minds from turning their hardship into a months-long gay sex orgy. I mean, 68 sexless days? Eight were already way too much for me.

- I never cared much about Asian men until I started dating my boyfriend, who’s half-Japanese half-Chinese. Now I love huge Asians like him (he’s 6’1”, very large and exceedingly huggable!). There's this Japanese guy called Toshi who just won a reality TV show here a few minutes ago and wow, he’s gorgeous! Extra-large and handsome to boot, kinda like a Brazilian Dean Cain. It’s a real shame those people are never seen again after the show is over, I could use more meaty Asian eye-candy. Just look at those pecs.

glee and guilty pleasures

I'm not entirely sure why I like Glee so much. The plot is practically non-existent, the songs' renditions are seldom remarkable, despite being very well chosen, and there's no husky daddy type for me to drool over. Heck, any supermanly dude would suffice, but on Glee there's none in sight. Some episodes are dreadful, like the Britney Spears tribute, which actually made me cringe. The excessive use of autotune is appalling at times. Anyway, quality-wise, the show is pretty bad, yet I eagerly look forward to each week's episode.

I think I like it because Glee is gay. I'm not into a lot of gay things, like partying, grooming, fashion and drug usage, but musicals in general – including Glee – are a gay thing I very much appreciate. While the show was a bit gay at first, boy, this second season is as gay as they get. Kurt seemingly wasn’t enough so they actually put lesbo stuff with cheerleaders. Definitely not something I’m personally interested in, but if it’s gay, it’s nice in my book. Besides, mainstream gay teenager TV shows might bring us a step closer to gay videogames, you never know!

My favourite part of this new season so far is probably the new character Sam Evans. He’s played by a kid called Chord Overstreet (he’s only 3 years younger than me, but calling him "kid" makes me feel so superior and mature!), is "Chord" even a name? Anyway, this might be a sign of me turning pedo and it's something I honestly never saw it coming, but Sam is Glee’s Taylor Lautner. You know, the young athletic boy that’s shirtless for most of his screen time and serves solely as eye-candy. Shameful confession: Lautner’s physique from the movie he bulked up onwards gives me a huge boner. At first I thought it was due to my fondness towards brown-skinned guys, but nah, I like him because he’s exploitable jailbait with a smoking body. I guess I really have pedo tendencies OMG.

Now, Chord Overstreet. He’s like a blond Lautner with gorgeous lips. I confess, I never noticed men even had lips before Chord, he REALLY should be taped sucking a dick 'cause with those lips it would be the best cocksucking tape ever. And if the hot lips weren’t enough, there’s still his heavily-exploited twinky body (he appeared in two episodes so far and in both of them he had shirtless scenes – oh, and he’s also shirtless on the next episode’s preview, he’s playing Rocky Horror for fuck’s sake!) and his dyed hair... well, basically, Chord is a piece of hot, objectified (I love objectified men) jailbait material, and the fact he’s exposing his torso almost all the time means Glee could be dropping homophobic slur and I would still watch it. Well, maybe not, but I would definitely get Chord’s shirtless pictures in superherofan.net for some quality masturbation material.

Even though Glee is deeply flawed and ultimately a bad show, it’s very gay-friendly, which is always a good thing. Plus, in an apparent effort to make up for the lack of male eye-candy in the first season, they decided to add the exploitable Chord Overstreet and the gorgeous Cheyenne Jackson (those eyes, those legs, that ass... man, I wish I were Nathan Lane) to the cast, and have a special guest appearance by the unbearably sexy Javier Bardem (*melts*), so, in the end, I guess I shouldn’t feel that guilty of watching it.

nudity and japanese cuisine

Back in the 90s, a popular Sunday afternoon TV show aired a report on a very peculiar type of... well, "Japanese restaurant", I guess, that served sushi literally on the bodies of naked women. It was dubbed "erotic sushi" and the reporters were shown picking sushi with their hashi from the girls' breasts, thighs and other nether parts, then eating it. Needless to say how it raised all sorts of controversy - everyone in Brazil ended up hearing of erotic sushi in a way or another. Honestly, as a kid, I was disgusted, and since it only showed naked women, it obviously wasn't sexually appealing to me. I did feel it was unfair to cater only to the straight dudes. "There really should be a male erotic sushi", I thought. Not that I would ever actually eat rice from a guy's hairy asshole, though, 'cause that's gross.

Several years later, I came to know through Wikipedia that said practice was called nyotaimori (女体盛り), and OMG, there indeed is a male version of it: nantaimori (男体盛り). Bara fans might remember that in Masanori's amazing game, Hunks Work Shop, one of the your possible jobs was serving sushi on your naked bodies - I find those CGs among the hottest in the game, even though I found it repulsive when I was younger. For some really strange reason it's a major turn on for me today. I mean, I still wouldn't EAT the food cause it looks so freaking dirty and contaminated and all, but the whole submission involved is damn hot. Plus it really makes me think of yakuza, which is awesome (in this blog post they say nyotaimori is associated to organized crime - sweet!). I've seen a few pieces of nantaimori-themed artwork from other artists too, so there must be other nerds in the world who also appreciate it.

Porn always having the same basic plot is a pet peeve of mine. In regular porn they talk, kiss, then fuck each other. In kinkier stuff they might beat each other up, then fuck each other, or maybe be tied up, tortured, then raped. It's cool, sure (especially rape), but I really feel they should explore other fetishes especially when you consider the huge list of paraphilia depicted in Japanese porn. Nantaimori would be INSANELY hot with someone like Vince Ferelli or Paul Wagner. They already do leather submission stuff and they already shave those hairy beasts for no apparent reason other than MAKE ME RAGE (this has nothing to do with nantaoimori, I'm just venting. Leave their body hair alone!), might as well have them serve sushi on top of their nude muscular bodies to slimy creepy businessmen-like old guys, maybe mix in a bunch of twinks, and maybe tape their mouths too... you don't even need the sex, the situation is already hot. Perhaps I'm just a freak really but bodybuilder dominated by non-bodybuilder must the greatest thing on earth.

The oddest thing about nantaimori to me, as if it wasn't odd enough, is how in spite of being such a supposed shithole for gay guys, Japan actually has gay erotic sushi. Japan simply makes no sense when it comes to sex.
(and speaking from experience, it's amazing how being sex-starved for a week will make you think of all sorts of possibly nasty and kinky stuff that you once saw and that has even the slightest chance to be a turn-on)

being sexless

I went into surgery on Tuesday and I can't have sex or masturbate for one month.

These have possibly been the longest five days in my life. I don't think I ever wanted something to end so badly as I want these 30 days. Maybe graduation... yeah the last semester of university was a nightmare. But then, at least I could touch myself at night (and day, and afternoon).

A porn addict unable to masturbate must be one of God's finest ironies.

league of legends

Part of the reasons I've been neglecting this blog is that I just recently started playing a free-to-play DotA-clone called League of Legends. My sleep deprivation due to compulsive gaming also reached its peak in a while... going to bed routinely at 2:30 AM sucks, but I can't help it!

After cancelling my WoW account while waiting for Cataclysm (as much as I like Blizzard, paying them $15/month for ZERO content seemed too much like a waste) I decided I needed a new game, and, never having played Defense of the Ancients before, I was rather curious about how 5x5 real-time strategy PvP worked. My favourite games are turn-based strategy games, but I played a lot of single-player Warcraft 2 as a kid and I recall greatly enjoying it. I skipped Starcraft and Warcraft 3 due to my Final Fantasy fanboy phase (just like every RPG nerd), so my RTS experiences were really outdated. LoL's colourful design and free-to-playness lured me in.

LoL is like crack cocaine. Shit is addicting and hazardous to your health. Basically, there is a wide variety of Champions (characters you control) ingame, over 50 of them ranging from handsome greatsword-wielding soldiers to pyromaniac 10-year-old girls, including barbarians, demons, ninjas, a pirate, a female Articuno, a robot very reminiscent of Chrono Trigger and an adorable emo mummy kid! All of them are very distinct from each other, but only 10 of them are playable for free each week: the free-to-play roster rotates every Monday and if you want to have permanent access to a character, you must unlock them by paying either RL cash or "Influence Points" (which is earned as a reward at the end of each match). Otherwise you are forced to choose from among the 10 free champions, which isn't as bad as it might seem, since they usually choose a fair spread among tanks, melee DPS, mages and support characters.

LoL is also very competitive, as expected from a PvP game, so the community isn't that friendly once you gain levels and start playing against non-newbies. Nothing unbearable though; I've met a bunch of jerks, but most of the time it's fine. I compare "Normal" games to Battlegrounds (there are "Rated" games later on, comparable to WoW arenas, with an ELO rating and all that) - it's thrilling as PvP usually is but very laid-back and casual at the same time. Rated matches and their ELO rating surely must be very rage-inducing, I'm not certain I'll ever play ranked. The biggest complain seems to revolve around, as in every free-to-play online game, Brazilians. Everyone hates Brazilians in there. Thankfully they have no way to detect your nationality. Nobody I've played with or against knew I'm Brazilian, so thankfully I haven't been harassed due to my unfortunate place of birth.

I main Garen, the hunky soldier guy, but since lately people have been raping my newbie ass - especially casters like the fallen angel Morgana (personally I would prefer being raped by barbarian king Tryndamere, or spartan soldier Pantheon), I've moved on to Amumu, the cute-but-sad mummy kid (who's a frigging tank - awesome!), and I'm having a blast. Great game!

buenos aires

I made a short trip to Buenos Aires last week, my first time in there. It's a beautiful city, filled with old architecture which I really appreciate. Even though my trip to La Bombonera made me a Boca Juniors fan (the list of clubs I support now is Corinthians, Bayern München, Real Madrid and Boca Juniors), I'd say my favourite things about Buenos Aires were the steak (bife de chorizo is an amazing delicacy. Eating steak twice a day for three days kinda ruined my stomach, though), the ice cream (Persicco is incredible, my favourite flavours are dulce de leche with brownie and crema mascarpone!) and the men. There was this guy who I figured owned the Persicco store in Tucuman x Reconquista (because he wasn't wearing a uniform and he looked very owner-ish)... rugged, manly but still beautiful, almost fashion-model-in-his-late-30's face with slightly grizzling sideburns and so damn meaty thighs you could almost feel through his gray trousers. My boyfriend caught sight of him standing up and apparently he had a gigantic ass, but sadly I didn't had the chance to experience such wonder of nature - he was already sitting behind the counter when I turned to look, all I could see were those thunder thighs. He was amazing.

Oh, I also found it funny that men greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek. I thought that kissing was a gay thing in a gay-friendly town but visibly straight uncle types did it too, it must be usual in there. Pretty cool.

Unfortunately, during my stay I didn't bump into Gonzalo Higuain, the best thing Argentina has ever produced (neverminding the fact he is French-born), so I might have to return to Buenos Aires later (neverminding the fact he plays for a Spanish club) to have a chance at tapping that huge ass!
